Jade Gotcher Creative Directs for Erik Zachariah F/W 2012 Fashion Show

I had the pleasure of producing, creative directing, and modeling for upcoming women's wear designer, Erik Zachariah's Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Show. Tulsa native, Erik Hallquist and I share a similar aesthetic when it comes to textures, silhouettes, color palettes and style, so the process of working together to produce his debut fashion show flowed organically. Basically, it was smooth like butter.

Erik Hallquist (Erik Zachariah) hand sewed and tailored each piece of his Fall collection specifically to fit each model. Erik and I carefully selected and styled each look to suit each model's individual style and personality, yet concurrently made sure the looks maintained a ubiquitousness. The collection is cohesive yet multi-dimensional. The collection embodies downtown style with uptown influences. Lady-like pieces like the knee-length, silk, deep crimson dress with a prudish neckline were toughened by cognac leather trim and black leather gloves, basic mini skirts were given a modern edge with exposed leather pockets, and the use of shiny patent leather gave midi skirts sex appeal.

We're almost to the finish line with one more show for Raw Tulsa this Thursday Oct 18th. I've had an incredible time working with Erik. It was a true collaboration and I think all of our hard work has really paid off in the final result. http://www.rawartists.org/erikzachariah

Turban Tulsa

My mom and I had loads of fun at the Tulsa State Fair. I especially enjoyed the part where people thought I was part of the freak show. With this outfit, I fit right in. I resisted eating our prop caramel apple until we were finished.

No, monkey. You can't have my caramel apple.

Burnt sienna suede skirt, turban, and black leather belt - Thrifted
White collared pleated front shirt - Borrowed from mom, also thrifted
Knee length cognac leather boots - Aldo

Also, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that my painting of Julian Casablancas won a 1st place ribbon in the competitive art exhibit in the Acrylic Portrait category.

Blazer and shorts.

September is the best time of year for fashion. Not only because of the kick off of Fashion Month and the new Fall Campaigns, but also because you can get away with wearing two different extremes together. You can wear scarves with t-shirts, sweaters and skirts, sandals and corduroys, or heavy blazers with shorts, and not be burning up or freezing.  Take advantage of this because it won't last long.

Each piece featured in this post was thrifted or found at a Garage sale.

While we were out, I found my long lost bronze little sister playing with her bronze bird. They live at Utica Square.

Rock Climbing in an LBD

I always rock climb in my little black body con dress. Who cares?

I always hang out at the park in my bra. No big deal.

Considering the last post was so busy and full of color, I wanted to do a story that was "stripped down" (pun intended) and simple. Featuring again the army green utility jacket, one of my new favorite fall outerwear essentials.

Summer to Fall Transition (DIY Gold Pyramid Studded Collar White Dress)

You maybe asking yourself, "How can I transition that white Summer dress that I love oh-so-much into my Fall wardrobe?" Well, I'm gonna tell you. It's pretty simple.

SUMMATIMEZ

DIY gold pyramid studded collar thrifted dress. Featured with BCBG Generation studded metallic Gladiators, Forever 21 Mint Cat-eye Sunglasses, and a thrifted leopard print belt.  In a past life, this dress was a short sleeved chambray denim frock. But with a ton of bleach, scissors, and some gold pyramid studs this dress was transformed VOILA.

READY FOR FALL Y'ALL

Just put a jacket over it and put some ankle boots on. As Dr. Steve Brule once said "Why didn't you thinka thatttt?"

Featured with thrifted olive green utility jacket, and Steve Madden black leather ankle boots.
